Dr. Cem Çağatay Orak, Esq.

Dr. Cem Çağatay Orak is admitted to practice law in New York and Turkey. Dr. Orak’s practice focuses on dispute resolution and providing strategic counseling to companies doing business in the highly-regulated sectors including energy, utilities and mining.

He has 20 years of trial experience in Turkish administrative and civil courts. He also serves as counsel in commercial, investment, energy and construction arbitrations, under all major international arbitration rules (ICC, ICSID, LCIA, UNCITRAL) as well as under ad-hoc and regional rules. Dr. Orak handles multi-party and multi-purpose business transactions including concessions, public-private partnerships, construction agreements, mining royalty agreements, joint ventures, long-term energy and natural gas supply agreements, water supply agreements, revenue sharing agreements, EPC and EPCM contracts, industrial partnership agreements and other strategic collaborations and commercial transactions. Dr. Orak regularly advises on administrative and public law, government contracts, foreign investment regulation, environmental law and permitting.
